Driving the Prevention Universal Wellbeing Movement

This conference will launch a national initiative in New Zealand to embed prevention Universal wellbeing solutions across Practice, government, health, education, Business, and non-profit sectors.

Conference Vision

The Prevention Imperative: New Zealand Universal Wellbeing Conference 2025 is a landmark event organized by the FREE Research and Education Equity Trust (Charitable). The conference is designed to drive a fundamental shift toward a development and implementation of a coordinated New Zealand’s Prevention Universal Wellbeing Charter and will serve as an evidence-based platform to launch development of the Charter and aims to bring together practitioners, policy makers, government bodies, researchers, sector leaders, and policymakers unity by a desire to move from an ambulance at the bottom of the cliff to fence builders at the top. This event will provide a safe, inclusive, and collaborative space that will empower individuals, organisations, and communities to proactively prevent poor Universal Wellbeing outcomes. This vision is underpinned by the Universal Wellbeing Model (UWM), which provides an evidence-based explanation of what wellbeing is, how it is influenced, measured and can be enhanced.

Researcher and Practitioner Presentations Welcome  

The Launching Prevention Universal Wellbeing Conference is an innovative conference, organized by the FREEDOM Wellbeing Institute to ignite learning, sharing and the bringing together of researchers, leaders, and practitioners who work is underpinned by or relates to the Universal Wellbeing Model(UWM). If your research and/or practice aligns to the whole Universal Wellbeing Model, or any of its component parts: Sensory Inputs, Dimensions, Determinants of Universal Wellbeing or Principles, we welcome you to submit an abstract to present at this conference.  Types of Presentation Abstracts: 

  1. Keynote: 35 minutes with a ten minute question time 

  1. Research Papers: 20 minutes with a 5 minute question time 

  1. Practice Papers: 20 minutes with a 5 minute question time 

​​​​We encourage submitters to think about their messaging, and the research and/or practice story they are sharing to ensure it supports new learning and is engaging. We encourage presentation abstracts that will enhance Universal Wellbeing Literacy, provoke reflection and bold new ideas. 

​It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure the correct version of the abstract is submitted. Abstracts submitted should be checked for spelling and grammar as they will be published exactly as received. 

​All presenters must register to present at the conference and pay the Conference registration fee, see in Presenter Conditions. 

 

Presenter Conditions 

  1. Presentations require the submission of the Presentation Abstract Proposal Form by  

Friday  4th July 2025, at 11:59pm AEDT 

  1.   All submissions will be peer reviewed. 

  1.   Outcomes will be advised by the 30th July 2025 

  1.   Presenters must register and pay for Conference registrations by the 8th August 2025 

  If no response or registration is received within the above specified timeframe, another     

  Presenter may be offered the place. 

  1.   All presentations must be in person 

  1.   Proposal must be supplied in Arial  

  1.   Any referencing must be supplied in APA Version 7 

  1. The Presentation Abstract Proposal Form must be emailed to Contactus@fwi.ac.nz
